Autism Scholarship
The Autism Scholarship Program allows the Ohio Department of Education to pay a scholarship to the parents of a qualified child with autism. The scholarship gives parents a choice of sending their child to a special education program, other than the one operated by their child's school district, to receive the services outlined in the child's individualized education program (IEP).
Haugland Learning Center is a registered Autism Scholarship provider and provides IEP-based services in accordance with the guidelines of the Ohio Department of Education Autism Scholarship Program.
Parents interested in applying for the Autism Scholarship for their child can find the application form and other information here . Additionally, the staff at Haugland Learning Center are happy to assist parents in applying for or renewing an Autism Scholarship and can even provide Notary Public services at no charge. Please call Carol Jackson at 614-602-6482 to request assistance.
The Autism Scholarship Program for 2009-2010 began July 1, 2009, and continues through June 30, 2010. All Autism Scholarships expire each year on June 30th and must be renewed if the child is to continue to receive services. To renew, parents must fill out the Continuing Application/Affidavit (sent out by ODE at the end of each school year) and submit it to the Ohio Department of Education. The renewal application can also be found here . Once again, the staff at Haugland Learning Center are happy to assist parents with this process.
