Our staff is dedicated and committed to serving children on the autism spectrum.  All staff participate in a two week training program at the beginning of the school year.  On-going training is provided throughout the year as well. 

Morten Haugland, Ph.D.

Dr. Morten Haugland is HLC's Founder and CEO.
 
He received his Ph.D. in Special Education and ABA from The Ohio State University. He is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst and has been serving children with autism since 1994.
 
Dr. Haugland also conducts IEP assistance, school observations, and behavior interventions, as well as, services to children and their families through Haugland Consulting.

Valerie Cook, M.Ed.

Valerie Cook is HLC's Director.  

After completing a Bachelor of Science in Human Ecology from OSU in 1998, she went on to complete her Master's Degree in Education.  She is certified to teach kindergarten through eighth grade.  She has also completed all coursework towards a Ph.D. in school psychology.  Valerie has extensive experience as an educational and behavior consultant serving children primarily with Pervasive Developmental Disorders in the central Ohio area since 1998.
